The Angelus

V/. The Angel of the Lord brought tidings to Mary;
R/. And she conceived by the Holy Ghost.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

V/. Behold the handmaid of the Lord;
R/. Be it done to me according to thy word.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

V/. And the Word was made flesh;
R/. And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

V/. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R/. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray,
We beseech thee, O Lord, pour thy grace into our hearts; that as we have known the Incarnation of thy Son Jesus Christ by the message of an angel, so by his + cross and passion, we may be brought to the glory of his resurrection. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

The Memorare

Remember, most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you, Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

The Sub Tuum Praesidium

We fly to your patronage,
O Holy Mother of God;
despise not our petitions in our needs,
but deliver us from all dangers,
O Glorious and blessed Virgin.

Prayer to Our Lady Of Walsingham

O Mary, recall the solemn moment when Jesus, your divine Son,
dying on the cross confided us to your maternal care.
You are our Mother; we desire ever to remain your devout children.
Let us therefore feel the effects of your powerful intercession with Jesus Christ.
Make your name again glorious in this place, once renowned throughout our land
by your visits, favours and many miracles.
Pray, O Holy Mother of God, for the conversion of England, restoration of the sick,
consolation for the afflicted, repentance of sinners, peace to the departed.
O Blessed Mary, Mother of God, Our Lady of Walsingham intercede for us.
Amen.

The Prayer for England

O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
and our most gentle Queen and Mother,
look down in mercy upon England, your dowry;
and upon us all who greatly hope and trust in you.
By you it was that Jesus, our Saviour and our hope,
was given to the world; and he has given you to us
that we may hope still more.
Plead for us your children whom you received
and accepted at the foot of the cross. O sorrowful Mother,
intercede for our separated brethren that, with us,
in the one true fold, we may be united to the chief Shepherd,
the Vicar of your Son.
Pray for us all, dear Mother, that by faith fruitful in good works
we may be counted worthy to see and praise God,
together with you, in our heavenly home.
Amen.

The Magnificat

+ My soul glorifies the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my saviour.
He looks on his servant in her lowliness;
henceforth all generations will call me blessed.

The Almighty works marvels for me.
Holy is his name!
His mercy is from age to age
on those who fear him.

He puts forth his arm in strength
and scatters the proud hearted.
He casts the mighty from their thrones
and raises the lowly.

He fills the starving with good things,
sends the rich away empty.
He protects Israel, his servant,
remembering his mercy,
the mercy promised to our fathers,
to Abraham and his sons forever.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now
and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Salve Regina

(Ordinary time)

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy;
Hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope!
To thee do we cry poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy towards us;
and after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

or

Hail our Queen and Mother blest!
Joy when all was sadness,
Life and hope you give mankind,
Mother of our gladness!
Children of the sinful Eve,
Sinless-Eve, befriend us,
Exiled in this vale of tears,
Strength and comfort send us!

Pray for us, O Patroness,
Be our consolation!
Lead us home to see your Son,
Jesus, our salvation!
Gracious are you, full of grace,
Loving us none other,
Joy of heaven and joy of earth,
Mary, God's own Mother!

The Holy Rosary

+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The preparatory prayers

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, Our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.
Amen.

The Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name;
Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Three Hail Mary's are recited for an increase in Faith, Hope and Charity and in thanksgiving

Hail Mary full of Grace; the Lord is with thee:
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

Conclusion

Salve Regina

Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae;
vita, dulcedo et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus, exules filii Hevae.
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes,
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo, advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos
ad nos converte.
Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O Clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.

V/. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R/. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

O God, who by the death and resurrection of thy Son,
Our Lord Jesus Christ, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life;
Grant that we, who meditate on these mysteries in the most holy rosary

contain and obtain the salvation they promise.
We make our prayer through Jesus the Lord.
Amen.

+ May God's help remain with us always.
